Successful 2010 Training Seminar
David Ferguson
SELECTED COMMENTS The following selection picks up the very positive note in all the evaluations. Julie Kelly, Trinity Christian School ACT said, "The lecturers were brilliant and the venue timing and organisation superb." Stephen Moody, Green Point Christian College NSW commented, "The course is long and concentrated but I am not sure that it could be changed to be more effective. I believe that all teachers in Christian schools would benefit from this course." Cathy Smith, Palmerston Christian School NT, said, "The lecturers were excellent teachers with good experience and stories." James Suki, Baptist Union of PNG, thought, "the conference was well organised, the content was very relevant and it was so much in a short period of time. Perhaps more time could be given in the future." Corinne Webb, previously at Knox Grammar School, commented. "I feel the content has good grounding and was valuable in shaping my attitude to teaching and to life in a wider context. I liked the way the book has been followed but loosely enough to allow room for plenty of discussion and explanation of how to apply it in a practical way." Huhana Dargie from New Zealand said, "The wisdom and experience of the tutors was outstanding and having more than one lecturer enabled us to benefit from their gifts. Their passion and love for the ministry was efforts as was their efforts to align their teaching with the material in the textbook." Mary McNeice, Trinity Christian School ACT commented, "I appreciated seeing the Scriptures as the primary source for the teaching method and the discipline. It a great to see how Bev modelled this as she took us on a journey through the Scripture. Having so many cultures come together enriched our journey and challenged us. It was good to experience the different teaching styles." Anji Wirhtsch, Adult Educator, said, "There is a lot of information to be covered in the four days. A good balance of discussion and knowledge given by presenters and participants. The phase 2 Approaches to Teaching and Learning is well put together. I look at this course as accelerated learning. It is the presenters who were able to bring themselves into the training arena probing, analysing, questioning etc."
