| Ladies waiting for Government sponsored food relief in northern Tanzania |
Prayer request from Imara in Tanzania
Right now there is a serious drought on with shortage of food in many parts of the country. For example, North of here the Maasai have lost 50% of their cows already and there is still some time before the rains and grass is around. Food is short and people are coming for help. If you would to help at this time, earmark special gifts 'drought relief. Tom Davis who is a Tanzania Volunteer from Scottsdale Bible Church (Az, USA) writes"I would like to make you aware of the desperate drought situation in the Mairowa area of the Maasai reserve where our church is working with Imara and local churches. Maize crops have failed, cattle are dying, and many people are near starvation. Please add the people of Mairowa in your next prayer letter. Pray for God to bring rain early to this needy area. For yoiur information, The Jesus film in the Maasai language was shown in Mairowa last month by one of our Short Term Teams. Over 400 attended and over 40 people came forward to talk to pastors to receive Christ after the film."
