Mt Hagen is the capital of the Western Highlands Province in Papua New Guinea and is the third largest city in P.N.G. It is situated in a beautiful mountain setting and enjoys a temperate climate all year round. It is the cross roads servicing four other land locked Provinces and therefore the base for many Missionary ministries. It is just a one hour flight from Port Moresby. The Missionary Home caters for all denominations and is a guest house where missionaries can come in from outlying areas to rest and buy supplies before venturing back out into the remoter regions of the Highlands where they minister in all sorts of fields including church planting, health, education, linguistics, translating and Bible Schools. Also many short term mission volunteers pass through the region on various assignments. The home also caters for commercial guests.
The Mt Hagen Missionary Home therefore plays a key role in supporting a large number of ministries. Presently we are looking for managers who would take on a two year term assignment or more. The job description calls for a married couple who would be responsible for the overall operation of the Home and supervision of the local staff. They would need to be mature, committed Christians with good management ability and counselling and support skills. Experience in office administration, maintenance and catering would be an advantage. References from current Pastoral oversight should be supplied.
A comfortable in-house Host/Hostess flat is provided and a no alcohol, no smoking policy applies to all residents. The facility has 9 rooms and can cater for approximately 40 guests. This very necessary ministry would be a challenging but rewarding job for the right couple. The place is always buzzing with missionaries coming and going providing an enjoyable and stimulating atmosphere. A modest remuneration package would be negotiated including free accommodation and a vehicle.
Any one interested can apply direct to the Missionary Home.
