CALL TO THAILAND
Rev Peter and Lynette Hester recently announced their move to Thailand in July. Peter is the Senior Pastor at Gloucester Baptist Church and Lynette until recently was teaching part-time at Taree Christian school and is a part-time lecturer at Southland College. Lynette is currently writing the third phase of the Effective Teaching Series "Implementing an Effective Curriculum". They are applying to go as volunteer missionaries under the OMF umbrella and their application to OMF is still working through the various channels - health checks etc.

Peter Teaching Position
Peter will finish up four years as Pastor at the end of June and has been appointed to a senior Maths position at Grace International School, Chiang Mai. You might be interested in its website at www.gisthailand.org.
While they feel at home with the Grace International School philosophy, the American system might take some adjustment (as will the climate change involved).

Lynette's Work
Lynette hopes to work half time on a flexible basis with their Extension Services Department which supports home schooling missionary families throughout Thailand. There are various levels of support but Lynette’s role involves regular email and phone contact, sometimes marking student work, giving seminars for parents, arranging combined events for students, effectively drawing from the range of experiences she has had in Christian schooling. Lynette has told the head of department that she will have an ongoing commitment to NHI, Southland and the Karen people. Peter and Lynette work well in a team capacity are eagerly looking forward to this new challenge. Lynette is interested in new teacher training as she has seen the need for this in the Karen camps.
