GOD'S MIRACULOUS PROVISIONS
Bob Frisken AM
God's provisions were evident even before the problem of Maryanne's cancer became evident. Firstly the International Training Seminar has given NHI a number of well trained people who can do the work that previously depended on Bob Frisken and one or two other people who had been involved in writing the material. Secondly despite the interruptions caused by Maryanne's illness, Bob and Maryanne have been able to complete the second phase of the training material and the teacher's textbook is expected from the printer in early April. The Training manual will also be printed by the middle of April. This has been an amazing provision as God raised up a number of people who assisted in writing and editing the material. The second phase is if anything a high standard of material than the first book and we are trusting that it will prove of equal blessing to those who are trained in it. God has also provided for the cost of printing this material. Thirdly God has raised up a number of well qualified people who can take up some of the work that previously was done by staff workers Alison Banister and Sarah Harrison In particular Ross Carlyon who previously was a NHI committee member has volunteered to undertake training projects in PNG and the Solomon islands. Ross not only has many years of experience with NHI but he has also served as a High school principal in the Solomon Islands so has a good knowledge of the Melanesian culture. Ross will be leading the training teams going to PNG at the end of April and to the Solomon islands in June. In addition, Neville Pollard one of the most capable and experienced Australian Christian School Principals has volunteered to take Bob's role in a seminar with the Baptist Union of PNG. On Tuesday 8th April week he for PNG left with Pepa Bala who has been living with Bob and Maryanne for the last 6 months and has been trained in Christian schooling philosophy. Pepa is another one of God's wonderful provision. Lynette Hester a lecturer at Southland College an on Tuesday 8th April week d Bev Norsworthy Senior Lecturer at Bethlehem Tertiary Institute have agreed to write the third phase of the Effective Teaching Course on Planning a Christian Curriculum. Christine Mukherjee has been appointed as Country Representative in India. The challenge to appoint Christine was unexpected but the Directors felt challenged by Christine's faith and commitment and have agreed to appoint her to the staff team. She is depending on the Lord for support while NHI will care for her travelling and other costs. Please pray for Christine and consider becoming a financial supporter. There are still positions that need to be filled for the planned Trip to Uganda in August but we are confident that the Lord has already in mind excellent people to lead this training. Please pray with us as these details are finalised..
