This vision is shared by NHI. At the ceremony Rev Bob Frisken, President of NHI spoke of its vision to work with and to bring hope to the poorest people in our world through Christian education and community development. He said the partnership with Southland would enable NHI to bring high quality courses of training to thousands of teachers in many of the poorest countries of the world.

Huge Potential for Change
Bob said that he believed that just as Christian schooling has had a significant impact on Australia and New Zealand it would also make a big impact on the less developed nations and would bring hope to countries that today seem hopeless. NHI was committed to helping the churches in these nations train their young people to be radical disciples of Jesus Christ. Bob reminded the students of Morling that he was a Morling graduate himself and he looked forward to this new association with Southland College and its parent institute Morling College which has had such a significant impact on the training of Christians for effective discipleship in Australia and overseas.
