Sarah's call
Sarah has been passionate about mission since she was 9 years old, when God placed a desire in her heart to be a missionary and help those in need. This passion and conviction of God's calling to enter missionary work continued to grow throughout her school years. In 2003, upon completion of an Education degree she went to Uganda. Her roles there included classroom teaching, developing classroom resources, administration, staff selection and training teachers. Whilst selecting and training teachers she became aware of the immense need for basic Christian educational training and in-servicing. As a result of Sarah's initiative, NHI provided the school with new teaching resources Once when she was visiting a school in Northern Uganda, she saw a practice teacher, struggling to teach 60 students in one classroom. At this point God laid on her heart the tremendous need for teacher training. She returned to Australia to gain experience and develop her skills in classroom teaching practice and educational administration.

Her call to serve as Project Officer
After three years in a small Christian School in NSW, she began to feel God stirring her towards another move. At a Christian Teachers’ Conference she heard Bob Frisken speaking about New Hope International’s vision for training teachers in developing countries. Sarah spoke to Bob and after several months of prayerful discussions with the Directors of New Hope International, she accepted the role of Project Officer. Already Sarah is involved in helping the Education Director develop the new training material which is being prepared as part of the NHI program of Educating for Change, This education package is part of a God-given plan to bring hope to many of the poorest countries in the world. Sarah will be doing pioneer work in the training of teachers in many parts of the world. Her heart is in Africa and in Uganda in particular but she is open to serve wherever the Lord leads her.
